John Henry Rouson was highly regarded as one of the foremost artists of racehorses in the world. He painted several of the Triple Crown Winners and Racing Hall of Fame Horses, including "Secretariat", as well as a number of magnificent racing scenes. His paintings have graced the cover of Turf magazine multiple times, as well as several other publications.

John Rouson also painted the Canadian Horse of the Year and Queen's Plate Winner for the Canadian Jockey Club for many years.
